Umar Farooq ~ Web Engineer

Umar joined OmniTI in August 2008 as a Web Engineer. He previously worked as a Research Analyst at Johns Hopkins University, developing high performance code for modeling cardiac activity.

Umar studied Computer Engineering and Physics in school, and still holds the latter in high esteem. Although familiar with many languages and systems, he hopes to continue expanding upon his skillset in the web development arena.

Personal Note

I live in Baltimore, a city that reminds me in many ways of my former home New Orleans. Most of my free time is spent in cafes, talking about the world with friends, or trying to put a dent in an ever-expanding list of books I need to read.

I like anything independent, open, and free, including news and source code.
